Lastly, an LLC is treated as a C corporation or business for tax purposes and is not considered a sole proprietorship, which allows for dual citizenship and liability protection. Furthermore, a sole proprietor is not allowed to act as an LLC in several instances, such as owning real estate and renting it out, as well as making money by lending it out.

 

On the positive side, an LLC provides privacy for the owner, meaning that personal assets are protected. An LLC is also completely tax-free, as it is not connected to any other entities. LLCs are very popular in certain industries, including real estate, where owners can use them to shield themselves from personal liabilities.
